What is Distance
Learning Services? |

WLRN Distance Learning Services (DLS)
provides professional development for teachers online
and telecourses for in service credits.
-
DLS coordinates educational and informational
closed circuit broadcasts through the Instructional
Television Fixed System (ITFS) Channels to M-DCPS school
sites.

Program sources include the US Department
of Education (USDOE), the Florida Department of Education
(FDOE), Annenberg/CPB and other educational institutions
and agencies.

DLS serves as the liaisons to M-DCPS,
facilitating various workshops, in service programs,
and professional development opportunities with the
local school district, the South Florida community,
and educational institutions around the state.

What is TeacherLine? |

Online professional development courses
created by approved providers following the standards
set by the US Department of Education.

Teachers completing PBS TeacherLine
courses receive 30 Master Plan Points (MPP).

The format for PBS TeacherLine courses:
6-weeks online and completion of the student/teacher’s
product.

The facilitators for the courses are
trained by PBS.

Broadcasting, uses media and telecommunications to advance
excellent teaching in American schools.
